Traditional Latin Mass: Feast of the Sacred Heart
BackTraditional Latin Mass filmed on the Feast of the Sacred Heart in the small chapel of the International Seminary of Saint Cure d'Ars, Flavigny, France, in 1999. The seminary is the Society of Saint Pius X's second European seminary. Typically seminarians spend their first year of spiritually there before leaving for Ecône, Switzerland, to complete their training.
The film presents the ceremonies of the Missa Solemnis or Solemn High Mass with Gregorian chant and polyphonic motets. Some local customs take place during the Mass. For example, birettas are not worn and the Domini Non Sum Dignus is recited aloud by all present. More astute listeners might also notice the French pronunciation, which is perhaps not the ideal.
This film has been available on the Internet for quite some time encoded in a very low quality format. I have encoded the video here from an original source at the highest quality possible given the size restrictions at Youtube. Unfortunately this has resulted in a slightly blurred picture and mono sound rather than stereo. Apart from the addition of captions, the film remains unchanged.

Dear TradCath123,
Catholic Priest'a should not be aloud to marry because they are married to the Church. I am a very strong prctising roman Catholic and i am the head Altar boy for the traditonal latin Mass in my parish. In my opinion there should not be a 'Vatican 2' all the Mass's should be said in the Latin right according to sacred Catholic Doctrin. If the Bishop of your dioceses found out that your Priest told you that he had feelings for you his pastral rights would be in jepordy.

If you would become a priest, and happen to find that Ms. Right in your life - go for the chance to get to know her, date her, know her long enough, and finally ask her the Big Question of marriage.

For those of you who don't know what Vatican II is - it is the second Vatican Council that took place in the 1960's, and ended in the 1960's.
This Council changed the Latin Mass to cheery English, with folk tunes, instead of Gregorian Chant.
This Council laxed the law on celibacy, and if priests want to marry, I believe they should.
I know of a priest who has feelings for me ( he told me also ) and if I were more of his age, I would date him.

Vatican II says that priests are permitted to marry, if they wish. In my diocese years ago, a letter went around for the congregations to sign their choice of optional celibacy, and I wrote yes.
In fact, priests make the best fathers for children, and I agree with priests marrying. They fall in love, too, and it is not right that they refrain from marriage............priests should marry, have their honeymoon, settle down and have children.

Guys... we should not go about talking to chris with profane language it just makes us look bad... we need to be the role models in this world. No I don't agree with chris. I myself want and yearn to be a catholic priest and searve god as he is calling me to, and I am 100% straight.
