I like that the children were able to open up around each other. I think its really true that TV, parents and other kids have an impact on ones own self image. Somehow children are going to have to learn how to love themselves as they are, and the rest should follow.

Hmph. Weight loss surgery; the easy way out.
People should try to be able to live with themselves instead and live naturally instead of obsessing over their weight. But, wait! Only fad diets and dangerous chemicals can make you lose weight; the comercials say so!

How can you say that about yourself?

If this is in the Us. I know why. Because in the US they have soo many fattining restraunts. For example, Dennys, TJ Fridays, I have been to those restraunts 1nce and I live in Canada. It is crazy. No insult to the US

I'm 13 years old and I used to be 185, but now I'm 150. the thing is I'm short, but I did lose a lot of weight! people are just too lazy these days and everybody wines a lot. Our society is based of instant access. Buying stuf online fast food, etc. They don't know something called patience. but i do! I'm still trying to lose more weight but I'm getting there!

I believe the 45 year olds who say "I've tried everything" but teenagers probably have not been able to try everything. they seemed to have just tried fad diets, instead of a healthy lifestyle. it takes longer to lose weight, but its healthier and more natural.

even with thyroid poblems (a glad problem) does not guarantee weight loss esp. if you know you have it and take medicine for it. I actually do have a genetic thyroid problem and im slender (not natually, just through being healthy)..so i dont buy the gland problem from everyone. But I do believe people have self coontrol problems that make them unable or not wanting to put food away.

I dont think people realise how much theyre putting into their bodies or that the foods tey are eating are that unhealthy. I am about 125 5'7 so im generally considered thin by western standards and it still amazes me how much i eat eithout even realizing it. the other day i ate a big mac and was curious and looked up the calories and it was 600. women are suppose to get 2,000 a day and my big mac wasnt even my whole meal!

You make a good point. One idea about how to lost weight involves writing down EVERYTHING you eat during the day. When you stop to think about it you start to realize how much we consume in calories on a daily basis.
