call us insane we will never care we enjoy true freedom without government hanging over us telling us who we hate who we love how to live and how to die freedom escapes the illusion instilled by the government dont fear the government take action

It's easy to critisize something most of us will never know or have the courage to experience-total and utter freedom, something that is rapidly dissapearing in our shallow, consumers society where we ourselves have now become something to be consumed. Chris lived in defiance of all that B.S. and demonstrated that the human spirit is still alive. He personified the one thing we no longer have as a nation and as individuals...greatness. He may have died, but he died ALIVE.

I LOVED the book and I LOVED the movie. And I thought the soundtrack by Vedder was brilliant.

He lived his dream man, that's cojones in my book. If you want to hate on the guy, go live your dream and see if someone cares enough to write or make a movie about it.

You are right...his real experiences must have been BETTER. Hollywood cannot depict the essence of nature, the essence of the wild: you must live it on your skin, and in your soul. No movie could truly decribe what Chris experienced in that bus, alone, under the starry Alaskan sky.
