Tarkan vs Vikings (English Subtitle)

Back

Note for who feels himself as a Viking generation;
This is one of the old, fantastic, trash Turkish movie. It was made as an historical-adventure film but it is actually a big comedy. We all Turks have been loughing at this film for over 30 years... Also we know Vikings and Turks had never been in a battle for sure. It is just an imagination and not absurder than the Americans fighting against the UFO.
So watch and have good time with the film. And do not hesitate to add your comment about the funny things you noticed, or your conception, etc.. if you like. But please do not try to humiliate Turkish Nation. Otherwise i will have to delete your comment and waste time. Thanks for your care.

Another special note for AntiTurks,
I never let you abuse to my people... At least below my video. Please go and fuck yourself. You'd be better do something.

Türk düşmanı orospu çocukları yazmasın buraya. Açık ve net konuşuyorum. Kendinize başka bir iş bulun.

The adventures of Turkish Conan: Tarkan (Kartal Tibet) and Toro The Viking (Bilal Inci). The famous octopus scene only...

Wow you seem to know even more than me about this =) I wasnt aware that the Varangians fought for Byzantium. What a superunit of soldiers they must have had. Romans, Greeks and Scandinavians. Thats cool. I guess the Varangians found out about the downside of the round horseshields. Not good for shieldwalls =(

@Gunnar125: Especially interesting was the fate of the Varangian Guard at Mantzikert (AD1071). After most Byzantine units retreated, the Emperor remained alone on the field accompanied only by the Varangian Guard and his officers. The Turks tried to break the Viking "Shield Wall" but failed, and so their Horse Archers just killed them from afar using bows, wounding the Emperor himself in the process.

@Gunnar125: Also, please see the Sagas "Heimskringla" describing the deeds of Harald Sigurdsson, and "Laxdoellasaga" describing the deeds of Bolli Bolasson, an Icelander (Norsk) Captain of the Varangian Guard. One of the most famous of the "Grækenland" runestones in Sweden commemorate the Swedish Captain of the Varangian Guard Ragnvaldr. See also the Njalssaga, mentioning another Icelander in the Varangian Guard called Kolskegg. There are also Runic inscriptions in Gamle Norsk at St. Sophia.

@Gunnar125: I see that you are Swedish, so you must have heard of the so-called "Grækenland" runestones in Sweden and elsewhere in Scandinavia, which commemorare the many Swedes who served in the Varangian Guard. So many Swedes served in the Varangian Guard, that a Swedish King decreed that no-one could inherit while being in "Greece" which was how they called the Byzantine Empire. See the entry on the Varangian Guard by Wikipedia and also similar entries in the Encyclopedia Britannica.

@Gunnar125: Of course we have fought against the Turks, or rather the Seljuks. The Byzantine Varangian Guard was made of Scandinavians, and they fought against the Turks on numerous occassions, and most notably at Mantzikert. No less than two Norwegian Kings have fought bravely against the Turks, namely King Harald Sigurdsson III "Hardråda" (AD 1015-1066) and King Sigurd I Magnusson Jorsalfare. King Sigurd brought 6,000 Norwegians and Danes to the service of the Byzantine Emperor.

I saw this film yesterday. Rarely have I laughed so much. This film is cinema gold and a recommended watch for every single person in the world.

My favorites were the enthusiastic drummers.
