Sergei Rachmaninov plays his piano concerto No 2
BackRachmaninov was of course the brilliant virtuoso we all know, but as a genious composer he has as well his place in the standard classical repertoire. Here we hear him play the adagio sostenuto from his second piano concerto. This unique recording with the Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra directed by Leopold Stokowski was made for RCA in 1929.

if it's boring go back to your death metal and intense hollywood action.

usic is music. Enough said!
People make music to make others and themselves happy.
I listen to heavy metal. Lamb of god, Between the Buried and Me, Children of Bodom, SlipKnot, and other such bands. Yet I enjoy Rachmaninoff and other classical artists. I'm currently learning his g minor Prelude on the piano. I'm going to see this at the Houston Symphony tonight. I am very excited!

absoloutely right! There is way too much fighting over music. I am a huge hip hop fan. I listen to Dr. Dre and Lil wayne, andd yet I love this stuff. I went to see Carmina Burana the other day and i love classical music. music is music and if you dont like a ceartain type just dont listen to it

Ever tried playing it ? Very difficult indeed! needs a great deal of talent and or spare time.

martha argerich plays it better, but the man himself was a genius, lovely piece of music all the same.

Disregarding personal taste, no doubt that Argerich is a brilliant Rachmaninov interpret too.
