This is a amazing film its worth watching it for the most unbelievable escape plan from a prison in film history at the end. It basically consists of singing trash cans, prison guards on acid, and gleason and the professor escaping the prison in a trash can with food bags tied together.

Actually, Otto Preminger experimented with the drug to prepare for this film, and it has been rumored that Groucho also experimented with Timothy Leary.

very true !...i think the best depictions are the more subtle ones ...the onset of the trip ....
another good one was lynch's scene in the
'red room ' in twin peaks ....
not a depiction of bardo's or anything ..
but the wierd atmosphere ? ...he nailed it ....
