Senator Obama was at the Campus Progress conference yesterday, sponsored by the Center for American Progress. He spoke a great deal about energy independence, even bringing up a student from Campus Progress wearing a green "Kick the Oil Habit!" t-shirt who will be going around the country promoting energy independence from foreign oil. The student, Mark, will only be stopping at gas stations that offer E-85/ethanol based gasoline. Clever way to promote clean energy. [July 12, 2006]

didnt know anyone?!? His mentor in college Tony Rezko has lived in IL since he was in highschool, and he has been very close with Obama since OBs college, so he would have HAD to know him when he moved here. Another lie like Selma, Alabama. Hes a good speechwriter, and even better at trickery.

Mr. Obama did not bring revolution to Springfield in his eight years in the Senate, the longest chapter in his short public life. But he turned out to be practical and shrewd, a politician capable of playing hardball to win election (he squeezed every opponent out of his first race), a legislator with a sharp eye for an opportunity, a strategist willing to compromise to accomplish things.

Amongst people who don't know what they are talking about, who say or promise, but never remeber those promises after coming to power, I see a great great contrast in man. I wish him success, our nation will be lucky if we can have him for many years!
